Who should Christians support for president of the United States?

Our nation faces a serious decision about the future of our country this year. This election has placed the Bible on the ballot. Important biblical issues have been made into political issues - life, family, sexual sin, and Israel all have been made issues for voters to weigh in on.

  1. Abortion - this is a biblical issue. God expounds on this issue throughout the Bible. In the Ten Commandments (Exodus 20:1-17, Deuteronomy 5:4-21) God declares “thou shalt not kill” or as in some versions “thou shalt not murder”. In Proverbs 6:16-19 the Bible declares there are six things that God hates, and yea seven are an abomination. Clearly stated is the truth that God hates those who shed innocent blood. Politicians who support killing innocent babies are guilty of shedding innocent blood because they empower it to be done by law.

  2. Homosexuality and the LGBTQ agenda - this is a biblical issue. The Bible is again very clear on this issue. Homosexuality is a sin. Whether you cite Leviticus 18:22 in the Old Testament or Romans 1:26-27 or 1 Corinthians 6:9 in the New Testament, the act of homosexual behavior is sexual sin and God condemns it. Politicians who support and encourage homosexual behavior and promote the LGBTQ agenda through law are guilty of violating God’s will clearly outlined in the Bible on these issues.

  3. Israel is the Holy Land - it is a biblical issue. The Bible is very clear on this issue. God gave Israel to Abraham as a homeland for the Jewish people (Genesis 12:1-7, Genesis 17:8). The Bible declares “blessed are those who bless Israel, and cursed are those who curse Israel”. The Word of God goes further and instructs us to pray for the peace of Jerusalem (Psalm 122:6-9). We know that radical Palestinian terrorists which include Hamas and others have waged war against the Jewish people for decades. Iran regularly threatens to annihilate Israel. Anyone who declares they wish to destroy Israel and the Jewish people stand guilty in the eyes of God and violate the Word of God. Politicians who support the enemies of Israel - terrorists and antisemitic activists - stand guilty in the eyes of God and violate the dictates of the Bible.

All Christians should read the following

article before voting and consider the record of all politicians on important biblical issues that have been turned into political issues as well:

Voting is a privilege and a responsibility for those who want to save our nation. Voting is one of the most fundamental and important acts any adult citizen can take as a member of civil society. When the people of God fail to vote for the best choice among any set of candidates, they throw their children and grandchildren to ungodly wolves who support ungodly laws for our nation.

The Bible is on the ballot this year in America. Go vote for the best candidates that do not violate the Bible and your Christian values. And when you have choices in which neither candidate fully meets your standards - which happens often - please vote for the best candidate amongst them. Don’t skip a vote and let the worst candidate win.

Please share this post with your family, your friends, and your church members. Ask them to pray and vote for people who do not violate biblical standards.

For those interested in joining us every Tuesday to pray for our nation, please join us for “An Appeal To Heaven” hosted by the National Association of Christian Lawmakers. All the details are here: https://christianlawmakers.com/%22an-appeal-to-heaven%22

The future of America is in the hands of our citizens who vote. Let us make sure Christians are fully engaged and involved in that decision.

In God We Trust,

Jason Rapert
