Cindy Gamso of Warm Springs, has been appointed
as Medical Missions Director for Holy Ghost Ministries, headquartered in Conway, Arkansas.
In November of 2007,
Cindy and husband, Greg, had the opportunity to travel to Ghana, West Africa with Holy Ghost Ministries. While
in Ghana participating in various projects the group was conducting, Cindy had a desire to visit the mecial clinic in the
village of Kormantse.
Cindy explained, "Our guide took us to the clinic and I was totally shocked at what
I found there. The clinic had no running water, the medical supplies they had were few and in very poor condition, and
the overall clinic was very unsanitary. This really upset me and I asked Jason about helping this village with their
clinic in some way. Jason and I decided this would be a project that Holy Ghost Ministries would take on for 2008.
Jason asked me if I would head up this project and so my hsuband, Greg, and I are working very hard to try to get more help
for the people of Kormantse."

In 2008, HGM Medical Missions provided medical supplies to the Kormantse Medical Clinic along with
insecticide treated nets (ITNS) for the prevention of Malaria. We also donated medical supplies to the Adullam Orphanage,
donated ITNS to pastors and their families as well as other families at risk for Malaria. We donated ITNS
to the DISOP Foundation, which is an organization dedicated to helping the disabled, orphaned, and the poor in Ghana.
Malaria
Nets
Malaria is a disease caused by the blood parasite
Plasmodium, which is transmitted by mosquitoes. Malaria, from the Medieval Italian words mala aria or "bad air",
infects more than 500 million people a year and kills more than a million - one person dies every 30 seconds.
Malaria is particularly devastating in Africa, where it is a leading killer of children. Africa is home
to the deadliest strain of malaria and the mosquito best equipped to transmit the disease. Insecticide treated bed nets (ITN's)
could prevent the spread of malaria, especially in young children.
One main focus for Cindy and Greg will be getting
access to malaria nets and other medical supplies that could immediately help the people in the areas in which we minister.
Insecticide treated bed nets can be purchased and distributed in these areas for approximately $7.00 each. Please
prayerfully consider your part as we attempt to prevent the spread of this deadly disease, one net at a time. If
you would like to purchase a treated bed net, you may send your gift to:
