| Dear HGM Partners and Friends, |
|
In November 2007, Holy Ghost Ministries (HGM) made its
fifth humanitarian mission trip to Ghana West Africa under the call of God to evangelize the world. A team
of 9 people from Arkansas and Missouri made the intercontinental journey to bring hope, peace and love to the nation of Ghana
and its people. We are happy to report that many were saved and God continues to place His hand upon HGM
to carry out His work. Every HGM partner, friend, volunteer, contributor and supporter has played a part
in the water projects, feeding projects, building projects, scholarships and evangelistic programs. With
God's continued help and direction, we remain committed to going wherever the Holy Spirit directs us to go. Our
lives are not our own, we have been called and set apart for the work of God. May we all never cease to
feel the Lord's guiding hand.

| "Because Jesus Did" |
| Almost two decades ago, J. Philip Hogan, known as one of the most influential missionary advocates
of the 20th Century, wrote about criticism of humanitarian efforts that were being sponsored by his denomination,
the Assemblies of God. In an article he wrote in June of 1989 entitled "Because Jesus Did", he
wrote, "We have invested millions of dollars and devoted countless lives to feed starving people, clothe poor people,
shelter homeless people, educate children, train disadvantaged adults and provide medical care for the physically ill of all
ages...As the director of this fellowship's overseas efforts, I want the world to know that the reason we do these things
is because Jesus Christ did them. The reason we love people is because Jesus Christ loved them.
We have no other motive than that. Our relief efforts are inseparable from our gospel witness...Suffering
people are under the care of the reapers. The Division of Foreign Missions understands this principle."
HGM's dedication to these same ideals will remain the same. God's
Word is unchanging and I believe that until Jesus comes back, "the reapers" must continue to do what we can to show
people in word and deed that we care for them as Jesus cared for them. If wealthy American churches can
justify spending millions on sound equipment, technology and new buildings, surely those of us called to go into the harvest
fields to reach the lost, dying and destitute have cause to invest funds in those Jesus died for. May we
all remember that mankind deserves our love and our resources. God loves mankind,
and so should we. (John 3:16). |
| Ghana 2008 |
One of
the most important aspects of our mission this year will be the start of construction on the Mike Pike Orphanage.
As we have shared with you many times before, my friend and Rotary partner Mike Pike died suddenly in November of 2006
at the age of 43. Mike was planning to adopt a Ghanaian orphan, but never got that chance.
His heart was captivated with the plight of the children in Ghana. Because of the need for quality
orphan care in Ghana, and the continuing AIDS epidemic in Africa that is leaving many orphans behind, HGM has been led of
the Lord to build an orphanage in the Kormantse area in honor of Mike Pike - he may never have
gotten to adopt an orphan while he was alive, but he can have many, many Ghanaian children through the Mike Pike Orphanage
built in his name.
At
this time, the village chiefs and elders of Kormanste One and Kormantse
Two, along with Mfantseman District Chief Executive Robert Quainoo-Arthur,
have pledged to donate plots of land for the orphanage complex. The HGM Ghana
Board of Advisors is currently working with the community to complete the legal work necessary to transfer the property to
HGM so that the future of the orphanage and related projects may be ensured.
Our
current plans are to build on the cottage orphanage concept in order to give children a real family experience as opposed
to a barracks style arrangement that does not give one a true family environment. This idea was given to
me by Brother Wes Syverson of Tech Serve International, who has agreed to help us in our orphanage
effort. HGM's goal is to begin construction on a facility to house 12 to 15
children, and house parents, during 2008. This facility would have bedrooms for the children to share,
a kitchen, living area and parents quarters, all self-contained. In addition
to the site preparation and construction, we must hire trustworthy house parents and provide for the maintenance of the orphanage
and supplies to run the orphanage. Please pray that God will allow these funds to start coming in now and
that we can finish this project in 2008. We are believing God for $100,000 to
get this project off of the ground this year. After the orphanage is built, we will provide the annual funding necessary to
keep it open and will also build new structures to help other children as the need and funding materializes. Thank
you so much for supporting this effort.
We have plans to help Kirt and Hilda Bromley with a water bore hole
project for an Alcoholics Anonymous Half-way House in Kukurantumi - the village in which they
have their Libraries for Africa project. I met the Bromleys while journeying
to Ghana a couple years ago and have maintained communication with them every few months since then. They
are doing a great work and have need for a water project that can serve the community at large where there ministry is headquartered.
In addition to their library project, Kirt is very active with pioneering an Alcoholics
Anonymous work in Ghana which has problems with alcoholism just like we have in the United States. You
may read more about the Bromleys by visiting their website, http://www.forafricalibrary.org/index.html. Isaac DeGraft
and I personally visited the project site and surveyed the needs in November of 2007.
We
are currently trying to obtain final information so that we may complete a KVIP toilet system in the village of Darwenya,
complete a water line connection and polytank reservoir for the Kormantse
Medical Clinic, construct KVIP toilets for various churches and work with Southern Ghana Bible
College to upgrade toilet facilities for their student dormitories. The Iovino
Family Foundation awarded a grant of $30,000 US dollars which is being utilized to fund most of the water and sanitation projects
we have currently in process. We are eternally grateful for their faith in our efforts and partnership
to help those in Ghana West Africa.

Pray With Us!
|
As we begin planning to carry out the various water and sanitation
projects that were identified during 2007, please keep HGM in your prayers. As the world endures an energy, economic and food crisis, we remain committed to loving those God has called us to spiritually
and physically. There have been times when our dedication to feeding the poor and sponsoring water projects
has been questioned. However, the direction and inspiration of scripture remains our steady guide to keep
doing what we can to help those in need.
James 1:27 (New
International Version)
27 Religion that God our Father accepts as pure and faultless is this: to look after orphans and widows in their distress
and to keep oneself from being polluted by the world.

| HGM Medical Missions |
Cindy Gamso
and Greg Gamso travelled to Ghana with HGM for the first time in November 2007. God
has touched their hearts and lives in a significant way and they have volunteered to become HGM leaders by spearheading a
new area of ministry through HGM. Cindy is a nurse and brings to HGM a passion for the Lord and desire
to serve God by serving others. She and Greg have been speaking in various churches about their experience
in Ghana and people have begun donating to HGM specifically to fund the medical missions efforts
that Cindy and Greg will be coordinating. Please be in prayer as they develop their goals for the first
organized medical missions effort HGM will conduct in 2008.
Just a few weeks ago I received word from Nana Akyen
II, chief of Kormantse, and the father of my goddaughter Emmanuella,
that the little girl had fallen ill with malaria and had to be hospitalized. She is better now, but the
disease could have been prevented with a simple bed net treated with insecticide. Even my interpreter,
Rev. Tony Elegba, recently battled a bout of malaria himself. He too could
have been spared the sickness by sleeping nightly under one of the treated bed nets.
Malaria nets are available, but must be purchased and then distributed in
areas that need them. HGM has access to areas of Ghana that many times have been overlooked.
Cindy is currently working on getting access to malaria nets and other medical supplies that could immediately help
the people in the areas in which we minister. I spoke with Cindy today and she was excited to report that
she has found a supporter within the office of U.S. Senator Blanche Lincoln of Arkansas who is trying to connect HGM with
organizations that have the supplies, but need people like us to get the resources to the people that need them.
Please pray for Cindy and Greg as they follow God's leading in this arena. This aspect of ministry
is needed and we are grateful for their passion in this arena. HGM is blessed to have Cindy and Greg Gamso as committed volunteers. We are committed to giving them the support they need
to fulfill God's call in their lives.

| Revivals and Services |
Living Grace Bluegrass Gospel recently ministered in song on KCGS AM 960 radio station in Marshall, Arkansas in April. We
were honored to help the families that own the radio station try to raise support for their ministry there. May
the Lord open the airwaves to more pure gospel.
Living Grace will once again be participating in the Bluegrass Gospel Festival held at Lester Flatt Memorial Park in Otto, Arkansas, on Saturday, July 19, 2008.
Sister Glenda Faith hosts and coordinates this annual festival and we support her labor of love. Please
come out and join us if you are able to do so.
I will be preaching revival services at Living Faith Church on Friday night July
25th and Sunday morning July 27, 2008 in Festus, Missouri. Pastor Pat Smith contacted
me to book this service recently and we are very excited about what God is going to do in Missouri. Preaching
at Living Faith is an honor and privilege for me. The late Brother Bob Smith pioneered the church there
and was a significant influence in my life during the early years of my Christian walk. My memories of
the services and tangible presence of God during services where Brother Bob was preaching still make me long for another great
move of the Holy Ghost. If you are able to join us in services there, please do so.
In August we have an invitation to preach in Brooklyn, New York.
Pastor Mark, a friend of my trusted advisor Rev. Isaac DeGraft, pastors a church in Brooklyn
and would like for us to come and minister there. We are excited to go through this new door and see what
God has in store. God is moving all over the world. We simply want to figure out where
He is and what He wants us to do in His plan.
We are planning to return to Ghana in October or November and begin the orphanage
construction, conduct evangelism, complete water and sanitation projects, deliver malaria nets to needy areas and expand on
our areas of ministry there.
I also intend to visit at least one new country this year, accepting one of the invitations that we have had
to minister. Uganda and Liberia are weighing upon my heart tremendously, and in my mind I want to go, but
I must be sure the Holy Spirit wants me to move in. Please be in prayer about this effort.
In the next few weeks, we will be announcing plans for a revival crusade to be held in Northeast Arkansas.
For months now I have been praying about the urgency God has placed in my heart for revival to come forth in our nation.
A good friend of mine has offered to allow us the use of his theater in the town in which he lives. I
have not forgotten his offer and now believe that it is time for us to accept the invitation and preach the Word of God, inviting a move of the Holy Ghost to occur in Arkansas like that we have seen in Africa.
I am in conversation with other men and women of God and hope to be able to share with you the dates and our plans
very soon. Please pray that we will move in God's perfect timing so that He will be lifted up and bless
our efforts.

"Have the Courage to Seek the Truth"
-David Cottrell-
Do you really believe in God and know who He is? Are you allowing your relationship with Jesus
to be defined by someone preaching to you? Do you know Him? I encourage all of you to
study the Word of God for yourself. The times in which we live are full of false prophets and false teachers.
We all must be vigilant to seek the truth of God's Word, being individually accountable for the relationship we seek
with Jesus and the life we try to lead for the Lord. When we stand before God to give an account for our
lives there will be no one there on which we may lean. You and I will be accountable for the life we have
lived since coming to know Jesus Christ. Our rewards, or lack thereof, will be determined by our fulfillment
of God's purpose in our life, (Revelation ch. 20).
Having the courage to seek the truth, as stated in the quote from David Cottrell, is harder sometimes than you
think. It is easier to "go with the flow". Why do we blindly accept someone's
interpretation of the Word for us? The first thing I look for in a pastor, teacher, apostle, prophet or
evangelist, is their focus upon God's Word. I want my preaching to always point to Jesus and God's Word.
I do not want someone depending upon me personally - I may well fail them. And if I falter, so too
may the joy and testimony of someone that lifts me up rather than having their faith solidly grounded in God's Word and their
relationship with Jesus. Where man may fail you, God never fails. When man may disappoint
you, God will never disappoint you. When man may abuse you, God seeks to use you. Knowing
the will of God begins by knowing who He is, and this begins by reading "HIStory" -
reading the Word of God.
The time in which we live is unique. In
my opinion, we are living in the season of the return of our Lord Jesus Christ.
1 Thessalonians 4
1Furthermore
then we beseech you, brethren, and exhort you by the Lord Jesus, that as ye have received of us how ye ought to walk and to
please God, so ye would abound more and more.
2For ye know
what commandments we gave you by the Lord Jesus.
3For this is
the will of God, even your sanctification, that ye should abstain from fornication:
4That every
one of you should know how to possess his vessel in sanctification and honour;
5Not in the
lust of concupiscence, even as the Gentiles which know not God:
6That no man
go beyond and defraud his brother in any matter: because that the Lord is the avenger of all such, as we also have forewarned
you and testified.
7For God hath
not called us unto uncleanness, but unto holiness.
8He therefore
that despiseth, despiseth
not man, but God, who hath also given unto us his holy Spirit.
9But as touching
brotherly love ye need not that I write unto you: for ye yourselves are taught of God to love one
another.
10And indeed
ye do it toward all the brethren which are in all Macedonia: but we beseech you, brethren, that ye increase more and more;
11And that ye
study to be quiet, and to do your own business, and to work with your own hands, as we commanded you;
12That ye may
walk honestly toward them that are without, and that ye may have lack of nothing.
13But I would
not have you to be ignorant, brethren, concerning them which are asleep, that ye sorrow not, even as others which have no
hope.
14For if we
believe that Jesus died and rose again, even so them also which sleep in Jesus will God bring with
him.
15For this we
say unto you by the word of the Lord, that we which are alive and remain unto the coming of the Lord shall not prevent them
which are asleep.
16For the Lord
himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in
Christ shall rise first:
17Then we which
are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever
be with the Lord.
18Wherefore comfort one another with these words.
I believe that every warning and every admonition of scripture is pertinent to us today. I
have been in the presence of false teachers and they are as smooth and cunning as any person you could think of.
We must be led of the Holy Ghost at all times, guarding our souls from those that are bent upon preaching a gospel
of convenience rather than purity. Let the record show that Jason Rapert encourages every man and woman
to become firmly rooted and grounded in the Word of God and be vigilant in defense of the Holy Scriptures.
Recently, some close friends and I formed a men's bible study
group in Conway, Arkansas. The "Iron Men" are now meeting weekly to study God's Word deeply.
We all felt a profound desire to slow down and study God's Word deeply, so that none of us would fall prey to being
led astray by anyone in our walk with the Lord. Knowing what God's Word really says is the key to a Spirit
filled life. We have committed to be accountable to each other in spirit and truth. I
encourage each of you to get involved in an in-depth bible study in the communities in which you live. If
you are in ministry, always pouring yourself out into others, you need the bible study as much as anyone. Everyone
needs disciplined bible study to be properly epuipped with the armor of God, (Ephesians chapter 6).

Thank You All
Partners, thank you for helping Holy Ghost Ministries.
I appreciate your prayers for our upcoming services, your notes of encouragement, your participation and your financial contributions which
allow us to do ministry and humanitarian projects in the United States and Africa. This is not my ministry,
it is God's ministry. I am merely a steward and I want to continue to see the Holy Spirit working mightily
as I have over the past few years. As always, please pray for my family as we strive to do what God has
called us to do in His Kingdom.
I am asking special prayer for strength as I serve God and my community. I strive to serve
God with all of my life, keeping my family first after God, then everything else. Please pray that I will
have the courage to say no to opportunities that are not in line with what God wants to be doing with my time and our ministry
service.
If you have a special prayer request, or would like to contact us for any reason, please do so by writing to Holy
Ghost Ministries, P. O. Box 10388, Conway, AR 72034, or contacting us at jasonrapert@holyghostministries.org.
God blessyou and may the Lord move mightily in your life today!
Always ready to do His will,
